Robin Step ("we", "us") is a game in which the steps you walk become an in-game balance that you spend on virtual stocks. This page explains what data the app handles, why, and what you can do about it. Questions: support@robinstep.xyz.
Your e-mail address and password (stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in provider), the username you choose and the avatar you pick. Guest accounts have no e-mail address.
With your permission, the app reads your daily step totals from Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android). Each time it syncs it reads the last 7 days. It reads nothing else from your health data and never writes to it.
Your step balance, the virtual stocks you hold, your trades, your friends list and the posts you like.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers. The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking.
Health data is used only to run the game. It is not used for advertising or marketing, it is not sold, and it is not shared with third parties other than the hosting provider below, which processes it on our behalf.
Accounts and game data are stored with Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), a service of Google LLC and Google Ireland Limited, on Google's servers. Data travels over encrypted connections (TLS), and database access rules only allow each account to read and change its own data.
For as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account. This removes your profile, username, portfolio, trades, friends list and published activity. You can also e-mail us to request deletion or a copy of your data.
Robin Step is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
The stocks in Robin Step are virtual and the prices are simulated. Steps, portfolios and ranks have no cash value. The app is not a brokerage and does not give investment advice.
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will say so in the app or on this page before the change takes effect.
